Pictures and PDAs
I've finally gotten around to putting pictures into some posts (namely Completed Forms and Certificate of Eligibility). I'll try not to overload this with too many. Perhaps I should start up an image gallery when necessary. Anybody know of any good sites?
Whilst I'm asking people's opnions, I'm thinking of getting a new PDA. I just need a calendar with an alarm, and maybe some contacts information, though ideally I'd like Japanese character support for obvious reasons. However, I don't think that this latter feature exists on any PDA at the moment. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm thinking about getting a Dell Axim X30 or possibly an X50. Comments are more than welcome.

Hmmm ... I would take a laptop ... but then again, unlike your Dad, I haven't had any truck as of yet with PDA's .... too small and fiddly! I still have the old IBM Thinkpad here with me from Jakarta days and it is doing fairly well>
While on the topic of packing (as you were) remember that we always pack too much (it is a rule of travelling). And then pack, unpack and leave out half of what you packed at first .... I just got around the U.S. by Greyhound for a month back in March to April with just a backpack. Went into 25 states and the District of Columbia within about 26 days I think it was.
Hey, Edd, you and I will be going through our "Years Away" together ... at this point I am probably not anticipating being able to get back down to "god's country" till perhaps June/July of 2006 (I have to get back then for Christie's 21st birthday).

Just thumbing through PC Magazine 9 August 2005 edition and their two top choices for PDAs are the HP iPaq hx4700 or the palmOne Zire 72. You might want to check out their reviews on www.pcmag.com. They currently review the two above plus the Dell Axim X50v and the palmOne LifeDrive. Seems the cheapest is the palmOne Zire 72 ($300 USD) then the LifeDrive and Dell (both priced the same) followed by the HP as the most expensive ($649 USD).
