I'm Going to Japan
I am a third year (finalist) student at St. Anne's College, University Of Oxford studying Mathematics and Computer Science. My college offers an annual scholarship to a handful of students to go and live in Japan for about 10 months and learn Japanese. This is a fantastic opportunity since the airfare, accomodation, Japanese lessons, and "excursions" are all fully paid for.
I've known that my college offered this scholarship for almost three years now and I've been waiting to apply ever since. I applied about six weeks ago, and I've just found out that I've got a place along with four others.
We fly on either 1st or 2nd September, so that only gives me six months to decide what to pack! What do you take with you when you've got a 25kg limit for a suitcase and a small backpack? Do I prioritise my PS2 or do I take 10 months worth of underwear?
Anyway, there's a meeting on 25th April where we get to find out more. There's also going to be sushi and sake!
